I wonder how many of this similar theme I’ve read already and will encounter this year alone… I can’t hide it any more — the “incapable, unreliable parents” with a strong, resilient youngster as the hero of the tale, helped by some other extremely loving (and often completely not related) adults. Book 86 is another one — solid and quite good, but perhaps because I’ve already read so many and there’s one that I think much stronger, I can only give this minimum support.
